In 1944, a little girl named Judi Chamberlin was born in Brooklyn, New York. Later in life she was diagnosed with schizophrenia.
Taking advice from a doctor she made the choice to go to a mental hospital. Unfortunately, the hospital abused her, didn’t treat her fairly, and didn’t let her go home.
When she finally got out she became an activist and a member of the psychiatric survivor movement.
She died in 2011, when she was 66.
