ASHANTI: My name is Ashanti, I'm from Louisiana, and I have a psychological disability. The topic I wanna discuss is psychological disability in the African American community. It's important to share this topic because there's still a stigma within the African American community about seeking help for psychological disabilities. It's related to disability rights because of the racial disparities in healthcare. I'm the person to share this story because I am African American, as you can see, and I do have a disability. My audience is the African American community, law enforcement, and mental health professionals. My call to action is to simply open up a dialogue within the African American community about psychological disability and seeking help for it.
