The U.S. Department launched a new Facebook page October 20, titled the Social Jobs Partnership, to “highlight available training programs, educational opportunities and job search resources” for people with disabilities.
“Linking American job seekers with the resources they need to get back to work is a top priority of the Obama administration and my department,” said Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis in a DOL news release. “By leveraging the power of the social web, this initiative will provide immediate, meaningful and ready-to-use information for job seekers and employers, and a modern platform to better connect them.”
The website also includes in-depth surveys about how people are using the social web for employment purposes and a variety of educational materials.
The website is a partnership with the Labor Department, Facebook, the National Association of State Workforce Agencies, Direct Employers Association and the National Association of Colleges and Employers
